Problem

Sun glare contributes to thousands of injury crashes annually. Standard cameras and sensors struggle in direct sunlight. Adaptive glass solutions remain expensive and limited to new luxury vehicles.

Approach

SmartShade is MDTI’s glare decision/control system. MDTI is evaluating and selecting partner sensing and switchable glass/film technologies to couple with the MDTI control module — MDTI is not claiming to invent film or glass chemistry.
